Rooted in Care

Caring Solutions was founded in 2001 by Madeleine (Madi) Hawn under the name Services by Design, Inc.—a title that reflected her belief that services for people with developmental disabilities should never be one-size-fits-all. Drawing from her deep experience in the field and a heart for people, Madi built a team that shared her conviction: that every person deserves support that’s personal, respectful, and full of possibility.

Soon after its founding, the organization began doing business as Caring Solutions, a name that more fully captured the spirit of its work. Over the years, what started as a small group of dedicated advocates and professionals has grown into a network of volunteers and staff who remain fiercely committed to individualized, human-centered care. As Madi often says, “It’s not about doing more—it’s about doing better.”

Today, Madi continues to serve in an advisory role, helping to guide the organization’s vision with the same compassion and clarity that sparked its beginnings.
